On Friday, 18 September, SGCM (Société de Gestion et Consultation Minières) had the honour of being received in Antwerp by the Consul General, His Excellency Dr. LUABEYA Pacifique Hippolyte.

SGCM was represented by Mr. Samuèl Bagula, Co-founder, Director of National Development and Institutional Relations, and Mr. Bryan Mayoka, Co-founder, Director of International Development and Operations, accompanied by Mr. Randy Kalemba, Promotion & Marketing Officer (CEEC, USA Representation).

The meeting provided an opportunity to present SGCM's mission and to deliver a demonstration of the CRP™ (Certified Responsible Partner) programme, our compliance framework for mining operators in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

SGCM's mission is clear: to support mining sector operators in their transition from the informal to the formal economy. This is the purpose of Phase 1 of the CRP™ programme. Legal structuring, traceability, due diligence and the assembly of a complete and defensible compliance file: each step is designed to enable the competent authorities, and the CEEC in particular, to review and certify these operators with full rigour, and to make them eligible for the requirements of international markets.

We shared with His Excellency the economic and operational realities observed in the field, as reported by the cooperatives that have chosen to join the CRP™ programme. These realities call for concrete responses: rigorous oversight, reliable traceability tools and a compliance framework capable of restoring confidence between Congolese production and international demand. This is precisely SGCM's purpose, not as a commercial operator, but as a structuring partner and compliance integrator.

The stakes extend well beyond any single entity. Formalising mining operators means lastingly improving the living conditions of those who work in the sector, securing State revenues and strengthening the position of the Democratic Republic of Congo within global supply chains. Compliance is not an administrative burden, it is a lever for national development.

Discussions also addressed the diplomatic support the Consulate can bring to our approach. This institutional backing is essential: it gives weight to our actions and lends credibility to our work with national and international partners alike, whether European buyers, refineries, industrial groups or financial institutions.

We wish to express our sincere gratitude to His Excellency Dr. LUABEYA Pacifique Hippolyte for his welcome, his attentiveness and the interest shown in our mission. This meeting marks an important step in building a Congolese mining sector that is more transparent, more responsible and fully aligned with global compliance requirements.
